Local Walmart in Seguin Comes Through
Seguin's Walmart received a letter from The Titanium Strong Foundation requesting help of any kind, Then they delivered.
The store donated ink cartridges for printing brochures, and that is just as valuable as a check.
Thanks to Walmart in Seguin Titanium Strong can now print out the aforementioned brochures in time for the Texas Titanium's first ever game at Barnes Middle School in Seguin. The Titanium will hand out brochures to educate spectators and encourage everyone to not only make a contribution, but to take time to learn about the disease.
I’m Mac Claire, and I am a Polycythemia Vera (PV) warrior.
Notice I did not say victim.
With loads of encouragement and help from my wonderful PV family in a room on Facebook called ‘Polycythemia Vera PV Supportive Friends’, I have formed a non-profit called The Titanium Strong Foundation for Polycythemia Research.
Polycythemia Vera, or “PV” is a rare blood cancer. It is a myeloproliferative neoplasm. Simply put, the body produces too many blood cells. It causes many problems which you can read about in other parts of this website.
The objective of this organization is:
Ø Educate the public and heighten awareness about PV
Ø Raise funds exclusively for polycythemia vera research
Ø Assure that doctors are closer to finding a cure that benefits future generations of PV survivors
With that said, I ask you to consider making a donation for this very important cause. We need our leading specialists like Dr. Reuben Mesa to have the resources to further his research.
I promise, all of us will cherish that one dollar just as we would cherish a hundred dollars. Please give what you can.
Whether you give or not, please take time to educate yourself about PV. The perception is that if we ‘look good’, then there is nothing wrong with us.
Nothing could be further from the truth. This is an illness that does not always show. Some of us deal with lots of pain but mask it. Some are fatigued.
When we ask out of that lunch appointment, it is not always for reasons that you may think.
PV is serious. It is a real cancer that needs to be dealt with.
All the best to everyone!
Be blessed, do something nice for somebody.
